Landscape of Rye Island

We can see the tree of life on the wall of our Kukkónia restaurant. This tree without a crown and whose roots reach into hell is a very old Hungarian motif. Its stump forms the middle world (where humans dwell), while its crown holds up the sky. The moon moves among its branches, as does the Sun. According to belief, it is only the táltos [Hungarian shaman] who knows where it is. Its nine bending branches are equivalent to a forest. If they start to wobble and mill about, a strong wind comes up, a WIND so strong that it brings about cataclysm and earthquake, and seals the fate of castles and inevitably brings it into new hands. (We projected an enlarged stylised image of the tree on the wall, so the wall painting was easier.)

The restaurant offers mainly local meals, all containing carefully sourced local, seasonal ingredients. The restaurant, with direct access to the park, can be a perfect choice for family celebrations or company events as it ensures an undisturbed private atmosphere.

Enjoy your night with great company and an exciting billiards game next to the Kukkónia restaurant. Snacks and refreshing home-made beer ERB can be served in the Billiard room too!
